Artwork by Vanshika Singh. Every time I open Tumblr and stare at its dark blue logo, I brace myself. The world of fandoms is dramatic at best and problematic at worst.
Just take a step back and think instead. Gay characters often have plotlines and background that are just as - or even moreso - interesting than those of their straight counterparts. All of these are good intentions. Unfortunately, what seems to be happening is that this gets taken to a whole other level.
